She's Home

She’s Home!!

She’s home! Well, in three days she is! THREE DAYS! Excitement overload!! I’ve got home looking clean and tidy, have got all the bed linen refreshed, carpets vacuumed, fridge stocked… I can’t wait!

This past week has been pretty crazy, pretty productive. I’ve pulled some of them hail dents from Mami, but maybe a little too much as it’d slightly raised in some areas, and will need to be tapped down. I’m planning to wash Mami, but it might rain soon. I’ve also got Tuesday off to do it, so no rush. I splashed out on a car cover this morning as the birds in the basement have been pooping so much and I’m sick of it. Someone put up some plastic owls and snakes for reasons unknown, because they don’t work. Maybe they can get a real owl.

In the post this week I received a Dieselhed record from Netherlands, and some Haku clothes from Japan. So happy! I also got paid for doing some census work, and have put most of it into savings.

On Monday night I ate the last of the food at home, beginning my fast. I got through 48 hours before I gave in to a cup of broth. I got through another 24 hours before I had some more broth and a cup of rice. I got through yet another 24 hours before it ended with some air-fried karaage. But I’ve eaten a lot less this weekend than I usually would eat on a weekend. Still haven’t touched any alcohol, three weeks now, although it has been a little bit tempting. But it’s all good. I get to 10pm and I feel great. I don’t feel sick, I don’t feel gross, I can sleep at night without repeatedly waking up thirsty, and when I do wake in the morning I feel great, and don’t need to whack some chips and a pie in the air fryer.

So yeah. I plan to have an early night on Tuesday, an early wake up call on Wednesday and a drive to Brisbane Airport. I’m so happy it’s almost over. 100+ days of loneliness, no companion. I get to watch her fly in from the new lookout at Brisbane Airport, and then wait with anticipation in the arrivals terminal. It’s have a week off work, too.
