Good news. The operation was a complete success.

Good news. The operation was a complete success.

I showed Misa-chan my new tattoo on Monday. She wasn’t too excited by it, but she didn’t know at the time of chatting that I’d had some whisky and a few Sachi8 cans (not mixed, of course). Her reaction was a mix of amazement, why?, noooo! and apologising. But she soon came around to it, even if she feels it’s too large.

Anyway, her surgery went ahead on Tuesday morning, and it all went smooth. Cancer be gone, and never come back!

I was in tears when I heard the news from her parents that she was okay. I could make out the gist of what they were saying (I still suck at Japanese) and the translation verified what I was reading was correct. Such a relief. Whew. While she was having thesurgery, I was trying to take my mind off of it with some video editing. It took a bit of effort, but I managed to reduce a 12 minute video to 4 and a half minutes. I’m happy with it, even though really it is pretty amateur. I was trying my luck at voiceover work and being 5 cans deep, I could barely string one sentence togehter. And when I could it sounded terrible. Being in an apartment makes you self conscious, plus my voice sounds terrible on recordings.

Anyway, Misa-chan is back home now. Her home, not Australia home. We still have some time to go, but we’re 20% of the way there. I can’t believe three weeks ago. I was spending my last night in Japan. Time has flown, even if work has dragged. But it’s kept me occupied, taken my mind off things, and gotten me out of the house.

So happy that she’s cancer-free. I just wish I could’ve been there by her side. Had hospital visits of more than 15 minutes been allowed, I’m confident I could say I’d still be there.

The Bulldogs also won last night, beating Hawthorn, and my weekend has just begun. Formula 1 starts in an hour or 2, too. A wonderful end to this horrible week.
